Why Do Some Artists Release Deluxe Albums?

A deluxe album can contain extra songs, alternate versions, remixes or other additional material but there's a business reason too.

The original album may already have an audience, a deluxe edition gives people another reason to listen, buy or revisit it.

It can also introduce songs that didn't make the original version, for the artist, it's another release without creating an entirely new album from scratch, for the fan, it's more music, for the business, it's another opportunity around an existing project.
